Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Indiana Ventures, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use KartInsightsPro (the "Service"), a web app for logging 2-stroke kart telemetry and driver feedback and getting data analysis and coaching insights.
1. Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier. We do not receive your Google password.
- Kart and session data you provide. Stints you log (track, weather, gearing, carburetor needle settings, RPM/EGT/speed values, ratings, and driver feedback notes) and high-resolution telemetry you upload (per-sample RPM, EGT, speed, and GPS from data-logger session files).
- On-board video (optional). You can attach an on-board video to a telemetry session to watch it with a live data overlay. By default the video stays on your device and is never uploaded. If you choose to back a clip up to the cloud (a paid feature), it is stored with our object-storage provider. We also store the small sync settings (a time offset and the landmark points you mark) used to line the video up with your telemetry.
- Public lap-clip shares (optional). You can export a clip of selected laps with the telemetry overlay burned into the video, and then choose to create a public share link for it. This is opt-in on a per-clip basis. When you create a share, that exported clip is uploaded to our object storage and becomes publicly accessible to anyone who has the link, with no sign-in required. Only the burned video clip is exposed by the link: it does not expose your raw telemetry data, your account, your other stints, or your team's data. Each link contains a long, random, unguessable token. You can revoke a share at any time from the Video tab, which removes the clip from our storage and disables the link.
- Team data. Team names, invite codes, and the membership that scopes your data to your team.
- Location for weather. When you tap "Auto-fill" to add weather to a stint, your browser asks permission to share your device location. If you allow it, we request a precise (high-accuracy) location and use it solely to look up current weather conditions (temperature and humidity) for that spot through our weather provider, Open-Meteo. We do not store your coordinates: only the resulting weather values are saved with the stint. If you decline, or precise location is unavailable, we fall back to an approximate, city-level location derived from your network IP address for the same lookup.
- Technical and usage data. Standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and request times, used to operate and secure the Service.
2. How we use information
- To provide and operate the Service, including storing your stints and telemetry and computing analysis (laps, sectors, turns, comparisons, and ideal laps).
- To display, sync, and (where supported) export your on-board video with a telemetry overlay, and to back it up to the cloud if you choose.
- To generate AI-assisted analysis, recommendations, and chat responses when you use those features.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and debug and improve the Service.
- To communicate with you about your account or the Service.
3. AI processing
When you use the AI analysis, recommendation, or chat features, the relevant stint data, telemetry summaries, and your messages are sent to our third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to generate a response. If you use the AI chat on a stint whose video you have backed up to the cloud, the assistant may also capture individual still frames from that video and send them to OpenAI so it can reference what happened on track. We do not use your data to train our own models. AI output may be inaccurate and is provided for informational purposes only; see our Terms of Service.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- Within your team, and only your team. Stints, telemetry, and video are visible only to members of the team that owns them. Teams are completely isolated from one another: we never use one team's stints, telemetry, history, or any other data to inform the analysis, comparisons, recommendations, or any other decision presented to a different team. Each team's analysis draws only on that team's own data. Reference data such as track and engine-type names is shared across the Service, but it carries no team's private session data.
- With service providers (subprocessors) who help us run the Service, including Google (sign-in), OpenAI (AI features), Open-Meteo (weather lookup), and our hosting and object-storage provider (Linode/Akamai). These providers process data on our behalf.
- Publicly, when you create a share link. If you opt to create a public lap-clip share, that exported clip becomes accessible to anyone with the link until you revoke it. This disclosure is initiated and controlled by you, on a per-clip basis.
- For legal reasons if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this Policy.
5. Data storage and retention
Account and stint data is stored in our application database. Uploaded telemetry is stored as processed data files and retained original uploads on S3-compatible object storage. We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Note that deleting a telemetry session removes its database record but may leave the underlying processed data file in object storage; contact us if you need complete deletion. On-board video you attach stays on your device unless you back it up; backed-up clips are stored on the same S3-compatible object storage and can be removed from the Video tab. Lap clips you choose to share publicly are stored on the same object storage and remain accessible to anyone with the link until you revoke the share, which deletes the stored clip.
6. Cookies
We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you signed in. It contains an opaque, random session identifier and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. You can clear it by signing out or through your browser settings, but the Service will not function while signed out.
7. Your choices and rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may close your account at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU/UK GDPR. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address below.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls scoping data to your team. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
We operate the Service from the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, you understand your information will be processed in the United States.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
